Should we abolish UPSR?

My opinion about the abolish of UPSR

Today, we have a very hot topic for us to debate about throughout the whole country. It’s about whether UPSR suppose to abolish or not. If you are looking it on professional perspective’s side, it is the right time for us to make some changes. Although many people are unwilling to abolish the formal examination.

Most of the people those who not agreed are all MBC ( Malaysia born Chinese). The point is what made them not happy to the new policy . Many of them gave a lot of reasons why the formal examination should stay and we are only to consider the ideas that threw from them.

But nobody think about why there are many Chinese refuse to accept the new idea. As a Chinese like me, I think about it for so many times. I know it well. Just because of the background of Chinese to drag for all this things happen. Of course , I am the person who are really qualified to talk about it .

Today , philosophy of konfucius still my main thinking. Based on konfucius style of learning , test and examination always being the components of learning . Without those both things, learning can not be completed .But if you compare to the country like Singapore and China, they do not have such a public examination with this age. It means, the examination is not necessary.

Since, we are already applied the event of test and examination for so many years . But the outcome still not the best. Why don’t we search for something is deference. It might bring something that can improve our new generation.

We just look at the western country , they also do not have the public examination with such a young age. The most important thing here is many researcher believed that pupils will too rely on the examination. Many pupils believe that the result of examination is the prove for everything. But don’t you know, many items that we can not test them through a piece of paper. We need to observe their creativity, leadership style and even the attitude. All these things are can’t covered with just a test. This is unfair for children those who are not that good on writing but good on others things.
